Introducing The Creative Hustle

How Creatives Are Turning Ideas into Impact and Profit in Ghana's New Economy

Ghana's creative economy is generating extraordinary output, but most of it isn't being captured. Fashion contributes $2.42 billion to GDP. Sub-Saharan Africa's recorded music revenues grew 22.6% in 2024, with Ghana playing a key role. UNESCO has inscribed both Kente and Highlife in consecutive years.

The opportunity is real and documented. So is the gap between creative talent and the business infrastructure needed to sustain it.

Drawing on real insights from the ReadyforWork Creative Entrepreneurship Program, this eBook explores:

  • The six sectors shaping Ghana's creative economy today
  • Why talent alone isn't enough, and what the missing infrastructure actually costs
  • Seven lessons from working creatives building sustainable enterprises right now
  • Practical disciplines for pricing, validation, collaboration, and digital growth
  • What policy, institutions, and private sector must each do to scale what works
